This is where she met Tarek El-Moussa who would become her husband. Tarek El Moussa & Christina El Moussa had a chance to be financially bankrupted after the crash in stocks of 2008. The cost of their apartment was $700 per week, as opposed to $6,000 they were paying each month to rent their house. Slowly, their business and overall economic performance improved. HGTV and Rise to Fame Tarek enlisted a buddy to help make an HGTV audition video in 2011. The video was a video of Tarek flipping the entire house with Christina. Pie Town Productions executive received this tape. The couple fell in love Tarek as well as Christina. In 2012 the couple reached a deal with HGTV. The series "Flip of Flop", premiered on April 13, 2013. Between 2013 and 2017, the series broadcast 92 episode. Christina and Tarek purchased houses in Orange County that were usually mid-income homes. They then spent several months renovating their home so they could turn into profit.
