In 2011 Ashley was chosen to play Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and received recognition in 2012 when she was cast as a voice actor for bears and rats in the popular animated comedy Ernest & Celestine that starred Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the friendship of Ernest the bear as well as Celestine the mouse. It was awarded 14 out of 29 nominations, including an Oscar.
